Social Alpha launched program to support innovations in agriculture and rural livelihoods

Social Alpha, a multi-stage venture development platform, has launched Techtonic: Innovations for Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods, a program designed to support innovative technologies benefiting smallholder farmers. The program is scouting for innovators and entrepreneurs with transformative technologies that address challenges faced by farmers.
Techtonic will offer selected startups a support package that includes access to non-dilutive deployment funding from Social Alpha of up to Rs 2 crores. The program will support up to 10 startups and innovators that have the potential to create a sustainable and scalable impact in the lives of smallholder farmers in India.
The initiative will provide innovators with resources for pilot deployments, market access, mentorship, incubation, and financial assistance, aiming to create scalable, impact-driven solutions for sustainable food systems. The initiative provides support Innovations at various stages—product development, pilot, and deployment-ready—are eligible for consideration, with opportunities to reach over 200,000 farmers and 150 FPOs through a large network of implementing partners across different states.
The program focuses on high-impact areas such as integrated farming, soil rejuvenation, water management, farm mechanization, post-harvest management, animal husbandry, non-timber forest produce, and farm waste management. Applications are open until December 10, 2024, with pilot implementation beginning in February.
