Dhanuka Agritech Limited has launched Tembotrax, an early post-emergence herbicide designed to control weeds in maize and sugarcane crops. The product contains Tembotrione 34.4% SC and is intended for use across key agricultural regions of India.
Tembotrax is a systemic herbicide that inhibits the HPPD enzyme, disrupting carotenoid biosynthesis in susceptible weeds. This causes visible bleaching of weeds while allowing selectivity in maize and sugarcane when the product is used as recommended.
The company said the herbicide provides broad-spectrum control of both narrow-leaf and broadleaf weeds through a single spray application. By addressing weed competition during the early stages of crop growth, the product aims to help farmers protect crop development and manage weeds more effectively.
“Early-stage weed competition is a key challenge in maize and sugarcane cultivation, as it can affect crop growth and farmers’ productivity,” said Rahul Dhanuka, Managing Director of Dhanuka Agritech. He added that the product was developed to address field-level challenges and support weed management during critical crop growth stages.
Tembotrax is the company’s fourth major product launch this season, following recent introductions in fungicides and efficacy enhancers. According to Dhanuka Agritech, the launches reflect its efforts to expand its crop protection portfolio and offer solutions for the changing needs of Indian farmers.
