IFFCO Board Appoints K J Patel as New Managing Director of IFFCO

Patel was holding the position of Director Technical, IFFCO and brings with him a wealth of experience in the fertilizer industry

Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has announced the appointment of K. J. Patel as its new Managing Director. The announcement was made by IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani, who welcomed Patel to the role, highlighting his extensive experience and strategic leadership capabilities.

K. J. Patel, who previously served as Director (Technical) at IFFCO, brings over 32 years of rich experience in the fertilizer industry. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Saurashtra University and has been instrumental in the maintenance and operations of both nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilizer plants.

Patel has also led IFFCO's Paradeep Plant, the largest integrated fertilizer complex in India, where he earned recognition for his commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Chairman Sanghani welcomed K J Patel as the new Managing Director and said that Patel brings deep industry knowledge, proven strategic thinking approach that aligns with the goals of IFFCO. Further, he added that the board is confident that K J Patel will steer IFFCO into a new era of Innovation and value creation. 

He also extended heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Managing Director, Dr. U. S. Awasthi, for his decades-long dedication and outstanding contributions to IFFCO and the farming community across India.

The cooperative reported a 16% increase in net profit to Rs 2,823 crore for the last fiscal year. It recorded a 4.5% growth in turnover, reaching Rs 41,244 crore. It was driven by higher sales of both conventional soil nutrients and innovative products like nano liquid urea and nano liquid DAP. IFFCO had recorded net profit of Rs 2,443 crore and turnover of Rs 39,474 crore in FY 2023-24.
