IIT Kanpur logs 100 per cent placement of MBA batch

The premier IIT Kanpur has clocked 100 per cent placement of its outgoing 2020-22 MBA batch. The MBA programme, in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, recorded YoY average CTC growth of 22.54 per cent, breaking previous records.

The premier Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has clocked 100 per cent placement of its outgoing 2020-22 MBA batch.

The MBA programme, in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, recorded year-over-year (YoY) average cost-to-company (CTC) growth of 22.54 per cent, breaking previous records, according to IIT Kanpur.

Besides, the salary packages offered have recorded a 1 : 9 average fees-to-CTC ratio, which is the highest anywhere in India.

The MBA programme, run under the Industrial & Management Engineering (IME) department, received a total of 61 offers by 35 companies for the 55-student batch. It included 11 pre-placement offers/interviews (PPO/PPI), which broke the previous records by the IIT Kanpur MBA Programme.

Some of the top recruiters included Accenture Strategy, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Axtria, Tiger Analytics, Juspay, IBM, Wells Fargo, Flipkart, Deloitte, Mastercard, Infosys, Dell, Berger and Digit.

Some of the key roles offered were Technology Consultant, Product Manager, Senior Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Manager, Associate Solution Advisor, Senior Data Analyst, etc.

While Analytics accounted for the maximum roles offered to the students at 37 per cent, IT/Consulting comprised 24 per cent followed by Marketing, Finance and Operations profiles at 20 per cent, 11 per cent and 8 per cent respectively.

“Our MBA Programme has been a pioneer in keeping up with the trends of the industry and in nurturing future leaders,” IIT Kanpur director Prof Abhay Karandikar said.

The MBA programme was incorporated into the IIT Kanpur eco-system in 2001. MBA IIT Kanpur was ranked 16th in the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2021: Management category.

Over the years, IIT Kanpur’s MBA graduates have joined the ranks of civil services and companies like Barclays, Tata Motors, Nomura, Amazon, CRISIL, Mu-Sigma, McKinsey, Reuters, HSBC, to name a few.
