State-owned MOIL, India’s largest manganese ore producer, has achieved its highest-ever quarterly production in the April-June period of FY 2025-26, clocking 5.02 lakh tonnes—a 6.8% increase over the corresponding period last year. The milestone marks the best Q1 performance since the company’s inception.
According to an official statement released by the Ministry of Steel, MOIL also recorded its highest-ever June production of 1.68 lakh tonnes of manganese ore, up 2% year-on-year. The Nagpur-headquartered company operates ten underground and open-cast mines across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, supplying manganese ore—a critical raw material for steel production.
Expressing satisfaction over the Q1 performance, MOIL Chairman and Managing Director Ajit Kumar Saxena said, “The company’s resounding performance in April-June 2025 reflects its strong fundamentals and continued growth outlook.”
In addition to production growth, MOIL achieved its best-ever first-quarter exploratory core drilling of 34,900 meters, representing a 16.2% increase over the same period last year. This reflects the company’s strategic focus on expanding its resource base and sustaining long-term growth.
As the demand for manganese in the steel sector remains robust, MOIL’s record-breaking performance underscores its strategic importance in India’s industrial and infrastructure growth story.
