Corteva, Inc. has completed the spin-off of its advanced seed and genetics business and will now operate as a focused, pure-play global crop protection company, the company said on Monday.
The company said the new structure will enable greater focus on innovation, operational excellence and the development of crop protection technologies for farmers across global markets.
“This is a new day for Corteva, and we couldn’t be more excited as we move forward with greater focus, agility and a renewed commitment to innovation and operational excellence,” said Corteva CEO Luke Kissam.
He said the company was prepared to address the evolving challenges facing agriculture with its portfolio, workforce and innovation pipeline, while advancing safe, effective and sustainable solutions for farmers, channel partners and shareholders.
Crop protection business gains momentum
According to Corteva, its crop protection business increased revenue by more than $1 billion between 2020 and 2025, while operating EBITDA margins expanded by approximately 250 basis points on a segment basis.
The company said this growth was accompanied by the establishment of an industry-leading biologicals and natural products platform and a shift in its product mix towards differentiated technologies. These technologies now account for about 65% of crop protection sales, it said.
Corteva said the shift is aimed at bringing new technologies and products to farmers in response to emerging crop protection needs.
$11 billion innovation pipeline
The company said it enters its new phase with an $11 billion crop protection pipeline backed by its research and development capabilities. These include microbial discovery, integrated development and predictive safety platforms.
Corteva said its pipeline includes 12 new active ingredients planned for launch over the next decade, including five biologicals.
The company expects these innovations to be a key driver of future growth as farmers face evolving challenges related to weather, insects, weeds and diseases.
Presence across 110 countries
Following the separation of its seed business, Corteva said nearly 9,000 employees will serve growers in approximately 110 countries.
The company describes itself as a global crop protection business with a portfolio spanning conventional chemistries, biologicals, seed-applied technologies and nature-inspired products.
It said its focus will remain on developing differentiated crop protection solutions while maintaining customer relationships, operational excellence and disciplined capital allocation.
