The second day of the ‘India Bioenergy and Tech Expo 2026’, jointly organised by the India Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) and the Uttar Pradesh New Energy Development Authority (UPNEDA), witnessed the participation of A.K. Sharma, Urban Development and Energy Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister for Agriculture, Government of Uttar Pradesh; and Kailash Singh Rajput, Minister of State for Energy and Additional Sources of Energy, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
At the beginning of the event, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Ashish Goyal read out a message from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Delegates from India and abroad, subject matter experts, and a large number of entrepreneurs participated in the event.

Addressing the gathering, Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma stated that the CBG industry holds immense potential to bring prosperity to farmers. Through this sector, farmers' incomes can be increased by transforming waste into wealth, and employment opportunities can be provided to villagers within their own villages. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the country the path toward green energy. While previous governments did not prioritize the welfare of farmers, Hon’ble Prime Minister has taken significant initiatives to boost farmers' incomes, introduce Soil Health Cards, and strengthen the agricultural sector. Minister Sharma assured entrepreneurs that the state government stands firmly behind those investing in the bioenergy sector.
Launching a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, Minister A.K. Sharma stated that Rahul Gandhi is merely attempting to mislead the nation's farmers and youth through political rhetoric. Minister Sharma challenged Rahul Gandhi to write the word "University" in Hindi and to state the full forms of IIT and IIM in Hindi; he remarked that Rahul Gandhi would not even be able to distinguish between sugarcane and maize plants. Minister Sharma noted that today, under the guidance of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is scaling new heights of development.
The international conference on CBG Bioenergy held in Greater Noida serves as a prime example of this, where entrepreneurs and experts from India and abroad are deliberating on ways to boost farmers' income, convert waste into energy, and generate rural employment. He urged Rahul Gandhi to understand this evolving landscape of development rather than misleading the country's youth and farmers.

Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi stated that Uttar Pradesh is the country's largest grain-producing state and possesses the highest volume of agricultural waste. Through innovation, this waste can be converted into energy. Assuring all entrepreneurs of full support, he said that with collective effort, we would meet our energy needs through green energy. This presents an opportunity to secure a bright future for farmers. He added that converting agricultural waste into a source of income and energy could further empower farmers economically.
Minister of State for Energy Kailash Rajput and Chairman of the Cow Service Commission (Go Seva Aayog) Shyam Bihari Gupta emphasized the need to promote animal husbandry alongside agriculture and highlighted the requirement to set up one lakh small-scale biogas plants across the state.

On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth ₹1,000 crore was signed with KIS and the Paras Group. Additionally, several research journals and agricultural publications were released. Delegates, subject matter experts, and entrepreneurs from India and abroad deliberated on the potential of bioenergy, CBG, the utilization of agricultural waste, rural employment, and green energy.
