Voting for the assembly elections in Maharashtra will take place on 20th November. In Jharkhand, elections will happen in two phases. The first phase will be on 13th November, while the second phase will be on 20th November. The results for both states will be announced on 23rd November. This announcement was made by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar during a press conference on Tuesday.
In Maharashtra, elections will be held for 288 assembly seats. The nomination process will start on 22nd October and will end on 29th October. The scrutiny of nominations will take place on 30th October, and candidates can withdraw their names until 4th November. Voting in the state will occur on 2oth November, and the results will be announced on 23rd November.
In Jharkhand, there will be elections for 81 assembly seats. The first phase will cover 43 seats, with voting scheduled for 13th November. The nomination process for this phase will begin on 18th October and end on 25th October, with scrutiny happening on 28th October. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until 30th October. The second phase will involve 38 seats, with voting on 20th November. Nominations for this phase will start on 22nd October and end on 29th October, with scrutiny on 30th October and withdrawals allowed until 1st November. The results for both phases will be announced on 23rd November.
By-Elections in 14 States
The Election Commission has also announced by-elections for 48 assembly seats and 2 Lok Sabha seats across 14 states. Voting for 47 assembly seats and the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala will take place on 13th November. Meanwhile, voting for the Kedarnath assembly seat in Uttarakhand and the Nanded Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra will be on 20th November. The results of these elections will also be declared on 23rd November.
