Nayab Saini sworn in as Haryana's Chief Minister along with 13 ministers

In Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as Chief Minister for the second time on Thursday. Along with Saini, 13 ministers also took oath as ministers

Nayab Singh Saini took the oath of Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time on Thursday. The swearing-in ceremony took place in Panchkula, where Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath to Saini and the new ministers.

In addition to Saini, Anil Vij, Krishan Lal Panwar, Rao Narbir Singh, Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goyal, Arvind Kumar Sharma, Shyam Singh Rana, Ranbir Singh Gangwa, Krishan Kumar Bedi, Shruti Chaudhary, Aarti Rao, Rajesh Nagar Gurjar and Gaurav Gautam also took oath as ministers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, and Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from several states.

A total of 14 ministers, including Saini, took the oath of office. Among them, the most are from the OBC category, with 5 ministers. There are 2 ministers each from the Jat, Brahmin, and SC categories, and 1 minister each from the Punjabi, Rajput, and Vaishya communities.

Among the new ministers, Anil Vij, Krishan Lal Panwar, Rao Narbir, Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goyal, and Krishan Bedi have served as ministers before. Ranbir Gangwa was the Deputy Speaker in the previous BJP government. Among the newcomers, Arvind Kumar Sharma, Shyam Singh Rana, Aarti Rao, Shruti Choudhary, and Gaurav Gautam are serving as ministers for the first time.

Nayab Singh Saini has now become the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second consecutive term. He first took office on March 12, 2024. Saini has previously served as the state president of the Haryana BJP and was elected as an MP from Kurukshetra in 2019. Under his leadership, the BJP contested the recent assembly elections held on October 5, winning 48 out of 90 assembly seats, while Congress secured 37 seats.
