The Union Ministry of Education has unveiled the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, highlighting the country’s top agricultural institutions. The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has secured the No. 1 spot in the Agriculture category, further solidifying its reputation as a pioneer in agricultural education.
National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI Karnal) ranked second, followed by Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in third place. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) claimed the fourth position, while the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI Izzatnagar Bareilly), secured fifth. The rankings also include Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) at sixth, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar at seventh, and GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology at eighth.
The Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE Mumbai), placed ninth, with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SUCAST), Jammu rounding out the top ten.
NIRF Ranking 2024 evaluated institutions based on criteria like education, research, graduate outcomes, inclusiveness, and approach. This ranking is a crucial tool for students in selecting high-quality institutions and plays a key role in shaping their career paths.
