Indian tractor companies sold 114,725 tractors in April 2026, marking the highest monthly sales figure in the last six months. Before April, the highest sales were recorded in October 2025, when 173,635 tractors were sold. Tractor sales increased by 27 percent year-on-year last month, while exports registered growth of more than 30 percent.
According to data released by the Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA), total tractor production stood at 110,261 units last month, while total sales reached 114,725 units. Out of the total sales, 9,704 tractors were exported. The export figure was also the highest in the last four months.
In April 2025, tractor production was recorded at 93,369 units, while total sales stood at 90,280 units. Indian companies had exported 7,441 tractors during the same month last year. On a year-on-year basis, production increased by 18.09 percent, sales by 27.07 percent and exports by 30.41 percent in April 2026.
During the first four months of 2026, from January to April, Indian tractor companies produced a total of 445,164 tractors. Total sales during the period stood at 413,462 units, including exports of 37,825 tractors.
This translates into an increase of 107,651 units, or 31.89 percent, in tractor production during January-April 2026 compared to the corresponding period last year. Tractor sales rose by 94,982 units, or 29.8 percent, while exports increased by 2,850 units, registering a growth of 8.15 percent.
