In a significant move to boost the international reach of Rajasthan’s cooperative products, the Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation (RAJFED) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL) on Monday. The collaboration is aimed at facilitating global market access for products manufactured and marketed by the state’s cooperative societies.
The agreement was formalised through the signing of the MoU by RAJFED Managing Director Tikam Chand Bohra and NCEL Managing Director Unupom Kausik. The initiative is part of the state’s ongoing ‘Sahkaar Se Samriddhi’ programme, being effectively implemented.
With this MoU, members associated with cooperative societies in Rajasthan are expected to benefit directly through increased opportunities in export markets. The move will not only enhance the global visibility of local products but also strengthen the financial position of cooperative institutions.
The central government has constituted three multi-state cooperative societies at the national level to promote income generation through cooperatives. RAJFED has already been designated as the nodal agency for these societies in Rajasthan. It has previously signed MoUs with the Bhartiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) and National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL).
Present during the signing were Dr. Amit Sharma, General Manager (Marketing) at RAJFED, R.S. Jodha, Consultant for the ‘Sahkaar Se Samriddhi’ programme, NCDC representative Sunil Chapola, and other senior officials.
