The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that soybean procurement will commence on October 25, 2024, and will continue until December 31, 2024. Farmers intending to sell their soybean produce must register by October 15, with the registration process opening on September 25.
This decision was finalized during a meeting held in Bhopal on Thursday, chaired by Chief Secretary Veera Rana, to ensure smooth and efficient procurement operations. The Chief Secretary reviewed the Kharif season's agricultural produce and instructed the Revenue Department to complete the Girdawari process for better procurement management.
In an official statement, the Chief Secretary urged farmers to register on the e-procurement portal to facilitate the sale of their crops. The officials have been directed to ensure a convenient registration process for farmers on the portal.
Markfed has been designated as the agency responsible for purchasing soybean at the support price, while the State Warehousing Corporation will handle storage. Markfed will also manage the supply of gunny bags.
To guarantee the purchase of Fair Average Quality (FAQ) soybean, necessary arrangements will be in place. Additionally, it was decided that farmers would be provided with a comfortable environment at procurement centers. Payments to farmers will be processed and deposited into their accounts within three days of the sale.
