Dhanuka inks acquisition agreement with Bayer AG for global expansion

Under this acquisition, Dhanuka Agritech Limited will get all the rights for the manufacturing and sale of Iprovalicarb and Triadimenol in more than 20 countries.

Agri-input company Dhanuka Agritech has announced a strategic acquisition agreement with Bayer AG to acquire international rights for two key active ingredients, Iprovalicarb and Triadimenol. With this acquisition, Dhanuka aims to expand its footprint in over 20 countries, including regions in LATAM, EMEA, and Asia. This move marks a significant step in Dhanuka’s global market expansion strategy.

The agreement will strengthen Dhanuka’s market position by boosting both its top line and bottom line through product sales in India and international markets, the company said in a press release.

Under the agreement, Dhanuka Agritech Limited will secure exclusive rights for the manufacturing and sale of Iprovalicarb and Triadimenol in over 20 countries. Originally developed by Bayer AG, these products will now be part of Dhanuka’s portfolio. Dhanuka will acquire global rights to the associated Melody brand (for Iprovalicarb) and its sub-brands, including Melody Duo, Melody Compact, and Melodika. As part of the transition, Dhanuka will ensure seamless service for growers and customers worldwide while relocating the manufacturing of at least one product to its Dahej facility in Gujarat.

Iprovalicarb, a fungicide from the Carboxylic Acid Amines (CAA) class, is effective in managing diseases caused by Oomycetes species in horticultural crops. Triadimenol, a widely recognized DMI triazole fungicide, is commonly used in seed treatments for cereals, cotton, and coffee, addressing various crop diseases.

“Dhanuka is excited to embark on this journey with Bayer AG as we expand our footprint in these key markets. This agreement not only strengthens our market presence but also reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional products and services to customers worldwide,” said Harsh Dhanuka, Executive Director of Dhanuka Agritech Ltd.

The agreement underscores Dhanuka’s focus on strategic growth and its dedication to fostering strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. The company is confident that this move will provide significant value to growers worldwide.
