Agricultural intelligence company Wingsure has launched Wingsure COFFEA, a technology platform designed to capture, verify and convert farm-level evidence into reusable intelligence for the coffee sector.
The company said the platform addresses the growing need for reliable farm-level information as coffee production faces climate, sustainability, sourcing and financial challenges. Currently, farms are often assessed separately for sustainability, sourcing, production, finance and risk, resulting in duplication for growers and fragmented information for businesses.
Wingsure COFFEA enables farmers to capture evidence directly on farms and builds a continuously developing digital record that can be reused across different programmes and decision-making processes. The platform combines smartphone-based augmented-reality capture, multilingual voice technology, computer vision, geospatial analytics and artificial intelligence.
Farm observations are geotagged and timestamped and can be collected offline. Satellite and drone data can also be incorporated to provide additional context. According to Wingsure Co-founder and CTO Dr Bikram Sengupta, the approach keeps every insight linked to what was captured, as well as where and when it was recorded.
Wingsure Founder and CEO Avi Basu said the company aims to apply its deep-tech capabilities to a major agricultural ecosystem while creating value for stakeholders on both sides of the farm gate. He said farms need to be understood as living systems rather than through periodic forms or satellite imagery alone.
The platform is being explored by the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC). FNC Technical Manager Álvaro Gaitán said timely farm intelligence is important for strengthening the capabilities of Colombian coffee producers and the wider coffee ecosystem.
Tata AIG General Insurance President - Government & Rural Business Madhukar Sinha said verified field evidence could support risk assessment and decision-making across insurance and the broader agricultural ecosystem.
The launch coincided with the Global Coffee Platform’s 10th Anniversary in Geneva and the Swiss Coffee Trade Association Forum in Montreux.
