The results of the Haryana assembly elections are now out, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a clear majority. BJP has won 48 seats and going to form government in state for third consecutive term. Congress has won 37 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) is leading has won two seats and independents have won three seats.
Despite the BJP's overall success, many of the ministers from Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s government have lost their seats in assembly election. Saini himself has secured a win from the Ladwa constituency by a margin of 16,054 votes. However eight ministers of his cabinet faced defeat.
BJP Ministers Who Lost
- Kanwar Pal Gurjar (Agriculture Minister) – Lost from Jagadhri by 6,868 votes.
- Aseem Goyal (Minister of State for Development and Panchayat, Independent Charge) – Lost from Ambala City by 11,131 votes. Congress’s Nirmal Singh Mohra won this seat.
- Kamal Gupta (Health Minister) – Lost from Hisar by 31,846 votes. Independent candidate Savitri Jindal won with 18941 votes.
- Jai Prakash Dalal (Finance Minister) – Lost from Loharu by 792 votes. Congress’s Rajbir Fartia defeated him.
- Sanjay Singh (Minister of State for Sports, Independent Charge) – Lost from Nuh by a wide margin of 75,931 votes. Congress’s Aftab Ahmed won with 91,833 votes.
- Subhash Sudha (Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies, Independent Charge) – Lost from Thanesar by 3,243 votes. Congress’s Ashok Kumar Arora won this seat.
- Abhay Singh Yadav (Minister of State for Irrigation and Water Resources, Independent Charge) – Lost from Nangal Chaudhary. Congress’s Manju Chaudhary won by 6,930 votes.
- Ranjit Chautala (Former Cabinet Minister) – Lost his seat from Rania.
BJP Ministers Who Won
- Naib Singh Saini (Chief Minister) – Won from Ladwa by 16,054 votes.
- Mool Chand Sharma (Industry and Commerce Minister) – Won from Ballabhgarh by 17,730 votes.
- Mahipal Dhanda (Minister of State for Development and Panchayat, Independent Charge) – Won from Panipat Rural by 50,212 votes.
Despite these individual losses, the BJP has managed to cross the majority mark and is set to form the next government in Haryana.
