In May 2026, Indian tractor manufacturers sold a total of 118,394 tractors, representing a 19% increase over sales in May 2025 and a 3.2% rise compared to April 2026. This was also the highest monthly tractor sales figure since October 2025, when Indian companies sold 173,635 tractors.
According to data released by Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA), India’s tractor exports also recorded a significant increase of nearly 14%, rising to 10,165 units from 8,930 units in May 2025. The export figure was the highest in 13 months, since March 2025, when Indian companies exported 10,733 tractors. Compared to April 2026, exports increased by 4.75%.
Total tractor production in the country also witnessed strong growth. In May 2026, Indian manufacturers produced 112,317 tractors, an increase of more than 31% over May 2025. Production was also 1.8% higher than in April 2026.
During the first five months of 2026 (January-May), total tractor production in India stood at 557,481 units, while total sales reached 531,856 units. Of these, 47,990 tractors were exported to international markets.
