The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare today inaugurated the National Agriculture Conference – Rabi Abhiyan 2025 at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, Pusa Campus, New Delhi. The two-day conference will deliberate on strategies, production targets, and preparations for the upcoming Rabi sowing season 2025–26.
For the first time, the Rabi Conference is being held over two days on the direction of the Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The event has brought together State Agriculture Ministers, senior officials, scientists, and policymakers from across the country on a single platform to plan for a more productive and sustainable Rabi season.
On the opening day, discussions are being held between central and state-level officials on key issues related to Rabi crops. Tomorrow, September 16, detailed consultations will take place between the Union Agriculture Minister, Ministers from all states, and Union Ministers of State, with a focus on ensuring timely access to the latest technologies and improved seeds to farmers.
Notably, for the first time, scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) have been invited to share their regional experiences and field-level challenges to strengthen policy planning.
The conference will also highlight best practices and success stories from different states, with an emphasis on replicating them nationwide. Experts will share insights on weather forecasting, fertiliser management, crop diversification, agricultural research, and technological interventions.
Officials said the conference is expected to lay down a clear roadmap for the Rabi 2025–26 season, while also advancing the goals of higher farmer income, resilient farming systems, and national food security.
