PM-KISAN 24th Instalment to Be Released on October 30, Farmers to Receive Rs. 2,000 Before Diwali
The Centre will release the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on October 30, 2026, transferring Rs. 2,000 each to eligible farmers’ bank accounts ahead of Diwali. Farmers should complete e-KYC and verify their Aadhaar, bank account and land records to avoid payment delays.
The Centre has announced that the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) will be released on October 30, 2026. The date was posted on the scheme's official X handle, @pmkisanofficial, which urged farmers to "mark your calendar" and said the payment would continue financial support for the country's annadatas. Eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts.
The payment arrives during rabi sowing and the festive season, when many farm families face higher expenses. It was earlier expected around Durga Puja, but will now reach farmers before Diwali.
₹6,000 a year in three instalments
Under PM-KISAN, eligible landholding farmer families receive ₹6,000 a year through direct benefit transfer (DBT). The money comes in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, released every four months.
The previous, 23rd instalment was released on June 20, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred more than ₹18,880 crore to over 9.44 crore farmers from Tarakeswar in West Bengal.
e-KYC mandatory
Farmers must complete e-KYC to receive the 24th instalment. Their bank account, Aadhaar and land record details must also be correct. Those with incomplete e-KYC or land verification may face delays, so farmers are advised to check their eligibility and payment details before the release.
- e-KYC: Mandatory. It can be completed through OTP on the PM-KISAN portal, through face authentication on the mobile app, or at a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC).
- Aadhaar and bank account: The account must be linked to Aadhaar and active for DBT payments.
- Land records: Verification of land records on the portal must be complete.
- Name match: The name in the Aadhaar and PM-KISAN registration must match, or the payment may get stuck.
How to check status
Farmers can check their beneficiary status at pmkisan.gov.in using the "Know Your Status" option. The portal shows registration, e-KYC and payment details, and the "Beneficiary List" lets farmers check whether their name appears. The PM-KISAN mobile app and the Kisan e-Mitra chatbot also provide information on the scheme.
PM-KISAN was launched in February 2019 to give eligible farmer families financial support for farming needs. It is counted among the world's largest DBT schemes, and more than ₹4.46 lakh crore has been transferred to farmers so far. The Centre has approved its continuation until the 2030-31 financial year, with an outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore.
