In order to give a further boost to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks Ltd (NAFSCOB), a five-day online training programme on Project Formulation and Appraisal Techniques was launched by the Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (LINAC), the dedicated training academy for cooperatives, on May 17.

The training programme, fully financed by NCDC under its promotional scheme, is meant for the executives of NAFSCOB, State Cooperative Banks and District Central Cooperative Banks. Executives from State Cooperative Banks of Nagaland, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Goa attended the first in the series of training programs.

Bhima Subrahmanyam, Managing Director, NAFSCOB, inaugurated the maiden training programme. He said that such programmes aim to benefit the State Cooperative Bank employees. Such virtual training programmes are the need of the hour amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

He added, “The training includes a combination of online classes comprising lectures, discussions and case studies to transfer learning.”

Col Bikramjit Singh, Chief Director of LINAC, said that during the session, the participants would be trained on various aspects of the project appraisal consisting of the screening of projects, formulating a project, understanding the project cycle and the project proposal and various related elements. He added that this was the first training programme under NCDC MoU with NAFSCOB.

Fully funded by NCDC and operating out of sprawling campus in the National Capital Region, LINAC had trained more than 31,000 persons from cooperative societies in its journey since 1985, Singh added.  LINAC, being part of NCDC, is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization.
