IFFCO Secures FCO Approval for Nano NPK Liquid and Granular Fertilizers

IFFCO has secured FCO approval for its Nano NPK Liquid and Granular fertilizers, marking a breakthrough in nano-fertilizer innovation aimed at improving crop productivity, reducing input costs, and boosting India’s fertilizer self-reliance.

IFFCO Secures FCO Approval for Nano NPK Liquid and Granular Fertilizers

Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited has received approval under the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) for its indigenously developed Nano NPK Liquid (8-8-10) and Nano NPK Granular (20-10-10), marking a significant advancement in India’s nano-fertilizer ecosystem.

KJ Patel, Managing Director of IFFCO, announced the development, describing it as a “defining milestone” in the cooperative’s innovation journey and a matter of national pride. The approval has been notified in the Gazette of India.

First-of-Its-Kind Nano Formulations

The newly approved Nano NPK Liquid is designed for foliar nutrition, while Nano NPK Granular (20-10-10) is a novel formulation suited for both soil application and root feeding. Together, they enable precise and targeted nutrient delivery aligned with peak crop requirements.

Patel said these first of their kind formulations mark a major step towards balanced crop nutrition by integrating foliar and basal application methods. He added that the development reinforces IFFCO’s leadership in sustainable agricultural innovation and highlights India’s growing strength in advanced agri-technologies.

Boost to Productivity and Soil Health

The Nano NPK variants are expected to enhance nutrient use efficiency, improve soil health, and increase crop productivity. By enabling targeted nutrient delivery, the products can reduce excessive use of conventional chemical fertilizers, lower input costs for farmers, and improve produce quality.

Patel emphasised that the formulations are environmentally sustainable, helping minimise nutrient losses and reduce the ecological footprint of fertilizer use.

He further noted that these innovations significantly reduce dependence on conventional fertilizers while supporting higher yields and better-quality produce, reflecting IFFCO’s commitment to providing efficient, modern, and eco-friendly solutions to farmers.

The development comes at a time when global fertilizer supply chains are facing disruptions due to geopolitical uncertainties. The approval of these nano fertilizers is expected to reduce India’s dependence on imports and help conserve foreign exchange.
