The Indian Sugar & Bio-energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) Tuesday announced the appointment of Deepak Ballani as its new Director General.
With over 25 years of extensive experience in public policy, government affairs, and organizational management, Ballani assumes this pivotal role with a wealth of expertise, says an ISMA.
Prior to joining ISMA, Ballani served as the Director General at The All India Plastics Manufacturers Association, where he spearheaded policy advocacy, government affairs management, and international partner management. His tenure witnessed notable progress in policy formulation, stakeholder engagement, and operational efficiency.
Ballani's illustrious career journey includes notable positions with renowned organisations such as PwC India, UNIDO, NSIC and others, where he led projects focusing on energy efficiency, technology transfer, and international business development. He holds a Post-Graduation degree in International Trade Management and embodies a dedication to continuous learning and innovation throughout his career.

Ballani's appointment comes at a pivotal moment when government is emphasizing on achieving energy security of the country with a target of reducing import dependence by adopting biofuels as one of the measures and ISMA seeks to navigate evolving industry dynamics regarding Ethanol and Bio-energy policies, poised to advance sustainable growth and innovation under his capable leadership, the release added.
