Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) organised ‘Apna Samvaad’ at its Gorakhpur plant, bringing together Lakhpati Drone Didis from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to discuss their experiences, achievements and challenges in using drone technology for agricultural services.
The programme provided a platform for women entrepreneurs to share their journeys in adopting drone-based applications in agriculture. Drone Didis from different parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar also participated virtually and shared their experiences from the field, including the opportunities created by drone services for rural livelihoods and entrepreneurship.

The interaction was led by Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director, HURL, who heard the experiences and success stories of the participating women entrepreneurs and discussed the opportunities and challenges associated with their work.
Dr Mohanty encouraged the Drone Didis to continue their entrepreneurial journey with confidence and stressed the importance of mutual support, knowledge-sharing and peer learning. He also urged experienced Drone Didis to guide others, share their learnings and collectively work towards addressing operational challenges.
HURL assured the women entrepreneurs of continued support in their efforts to expand technology-enabled agricultural services.

The programme also featured an award ceremony in which three highest-performing Drone Didis were recognised for their achievements and contribution to providing technology-based agricultural services at the grassroots level.
The initiative highlights the emerging role of women as technology-enabled rural entrepreneurs. By providing drone-based agricultural services, these women are creating new avenues for livelihood generation and enterprise development while increasing women's participation in the agricultural ecosystem.
