Dr U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director of IFFCO, met with JP Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, at his office in New Delhi today. During the meeting, Dr Awasthi provided an overview of IFFCO's contributions to Indian agriculture and its innovative services for farmers.
Dr Awasthi shared with Union Minister JP Nadda that IFFCO is the largest producer of Phosphatic and Urea fertilisers in India, catering to the farmers of India via a cooperative channel. He further informed him that IFFCO has indigenously invented and produced Nano Fertilisers for the first time in the world, i.e., Nano Urea Plus Liquid and Nano DAP Liquid.
In a tweet following the meeting, Dr Awasthi shared that he updated the Minister on IFFCO’s Drone Rural Entrepreneurs program, which has trained over 1,700 rural entrepreneurs to spray Nano Fertilisers across the country. He also discussed the IFFCO Nano Model Village initiative, which aims to cover more than 800 villages to educate and promote the use of Nano Fertilisers.
Dr Awasthi assured Minister Nadda that IFFCO ranked as the Number 1 Cooperative in the world among the top 300 cooperatives globally, remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting farmers and improving soil health across India.
