IIFT and Rural Voice to Organise Roundtable on Realising $100 Billion Agri Export Goal

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), in collaboration with Rural Voice, a media platform dedicated to agriculture and the rural economy, going to host a Roundtable Conference on Agri Exports today at the IIFT Campus in New Delhi. Themed "Realising the $100 Billion Agri Export Goal," the conference aims to deliberate on a strategic roadmap for doubling India’s agricultural exports by 2030.

With India’s agricultural exports reaching $51.9 billion in FY 2024–25, the ambitious target of $100 billion by 2030 demands innovative policies, value addition, robust infrastructure, and global market access. The conference will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to address challenges and policy gaps, identify global market opportunities, and outline a roadmap for achieving this goal.

The conference will feature two expert panels:

Panel 1: Challenges and Opportunities in Agriculture Exports

This session will explore the key bottlenecks in infrastructure, logistics, and policy that currently hinder agri-export growth. It will also examine sectoral trends, international market dynamics, and emerging opportunities for high-potential and value-added agricultural products.

Key speakers for Panel 1 include:

  • Prof. Rakesh Mohan Joshi, Vice Chancellor, IIFT
  • Dr. Sudhanshu, Secretary, APEDA
  • Mr. Siraj A. Chaudhary, Partner, Agvaya LLP
  • Dr. Prasanta Kumar Swain, National Vice President, Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF)

Panel 2: The Way Forward to Realise the $100 Billion Goal

The second session will focus on charting a strategic path forward. Discussions will revolve around strategic policy interventions, institutional frameworks, enhancing export competitiveness, improving market access, and fostering robust public-private collaboration, innovation, and viable financing models.

Key speakers for Panel 2 are:

  • Mr. Siraj Hussain, former Agriculture Secretary, Government of India
  • Dr. Rajbir Singh, DDG (Agricultural Extension), ICAR
  • Mr. Unupom Kaushik, MD, National Cooperative Exports Ltd.
  • Dr. Smita Sirohi, Agricultural Economist, Principal Scientist, ICAR
  • Mr. Harvir Singh, Editor-in-Chief, Rural Voice

A key highlight of the event will be the launch of a special edition of Rural World magazine, which brings together expert commentary and grassroots perspectives on India's agricultural export landscape. Policymakers, experts, and industry leaders will join the discussion to unlock the full potential of India’s agricultural exports.
