NCDC health talk on “Covid and Mental Health”
NCDC has chosen the topic “Covid and Mental Health” for the Health Talk it is organizing at 3 pm on 4 June 2021. Prof. Nand Kumar, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi will be the speaker at the virtual interactive session.
Covid-19 has led us to social distancing. The lack of physical contact with other family members, friends, and colleagues leads to a void somewhere within us. It is true that video-conferencing apps have kept us sane to a large extent. But no such app can be a perfect substitute for our natural tendency to socialize.
The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has been only deadlier. The news of the death of near and dear ones has shattered a number of people. “Humankind,” says TS Eliot, “cannot bear too much reality” and this time the reality is just too harsh. All this has taken its toll on our mental health.
Given this scenario, the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has appropriately chosen the topic “Covid and Mental Health” for the Health Talk it is organizing at 3 pm on 4 June 2021. Prof. Nand Kumar, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi will be the speaker at the virtual interactive session.
