Amit Shah To Dedicate IFFCO’s Sulphuric Acid Plant And Launch Cooperative Initiatives In Odisha

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, during his visit to Odisha on 6 March 2026, will dedicate to the nation the Sulphuric Acid Plant established by IFFCO along with inaugurating and launching several important development projects related to the cooperative and dairy sectors.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will dedicate a sulphuric acid plant at the fertiliser complex of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in Paradip on March 6, giving further momentum to the cooperative sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”.

According to a government press release, Amit Shah will dedicate the Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP-III) at IFFCO’s Paradip facility at a function organised at the plant premises. The project is expected to strengthen fertiliser production infrastructure and support the cooperative fertiliser sector.

Later in the day, the Union minister will inaugurate and launch several initiatives related to the cooperative sector at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. The programme will include the release of Odisha’s State Cooperative Policy and the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish a school under Tribhuvan Cooperative University.

Another MoU will be signed for the revival of Badamba Sugar Industries, while 1,567 Common Service Centres operated by PACS and LAMPS will be dedicated to the public to strengthen rural cooperative services.

The programme will also feature the virtual inauguration of need-based infrastructure for 141 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), the launch of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) Office Portal, and the digital launch of the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) portal of National Cooperative Organics Limited.

In addition, Shah will launch “Coop Marque”, a brand developed by National Cooperative Exports Limited to promote cooperative exports, and introduce “Savidya”, an AI-enabled multilingual digital learning platform for the cooperative ecosystem.

The event will also highlight initiatives of Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation aimed at strengthening the dairy sector. Registration certificates will be distributed to two milk producer cooperative societies, and grants will be released to beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Kamdhenu Yojana.

An MoU will also be signed with the National Dairy Development Board for upgrading a training and demonstration centre to support dairy development.

During the event, 69 projects worth about Rs 1,159.03 crore will be inaugurated, while foundation stones will be laid for 130 projects valued at Rs 2,116.06 crore across the state.
