Shripad Naik Emphasises Indigenous Technology and Clean-Energy Innovation at 6th India Green Energy Awards
The 6th India Green Energy Awards honoured 19 organisations for contributions to clean energy, while an accompanying seminar explored how biomass, compressed biogas and agricultural residues can strengthen energy security, create rural employment and support farmers' incomes.
The Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) hosted the 6th India Green Energy Awards (IGEA), supported by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. The awards ceremony was held on 14 October 2026 at Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, alongside a seminar titled “Bio Pathways to Net Zero: Biomass & Bioenergy”.
Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, presented the awards at the ceremony. In his address, he emphasised the importance of collaboration between the government and industry in strengthening indigenous technologies, domestic manufacturing and the wider adoption of practical clean-energy innovations. He highlighted the importance of recognising solutions that have progressed beyond the conceptual stage to implementation and can inspire wider adoption.
The awards recognised organisations for their contributions across renewable energy, bioenergy, clean mobility, waste management, carbon capture, utilisation and green-energy financing.
