Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate Compressed Biogas Conclave 2026

The Conclave will deliberate on critical operational, technological, and commercial challenges confronting the Compressed Biogas (CBG) sector. The discussions will focus on improving plant efficiency, optimizing feedstock utilization, deploying proven and scalable technologies, and developing viable offtake and revenue models.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways will be inaugurate the “Compressed Biogas Conclave 2026."  The “Compressed Biogas Conclave 2026 : Moving Towards an Efficient & Robust CBG Production Ecosystem” will be inaugarated on March 06, 2026 at YASHADA, Pune.

The initiative is supported by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. An optional technical site visit to CBG facilities is also there on 8th March 2026.

IFGE is a dedicated national trade body actively engaged in policy advocacy for the green and bioenergy sector since 2014. IFGE works closely with industry, government, and research institutions and regularly organizes conferences, conclaves, and knowledge platforms to support the structured growth of the bioenergy ecosystem in India.

The Conclave will deliberate on critical operational, technological, and commercial challenges confronting the Compressed Biogas (CBG) sector. The discussions will focus on improving plant efficiency, optimizing feedstock utilization, deploying proven and scalable technologies, and developing viable offtake and revenue models.

Under initiatives like SATAT, CBG is used in transport (fuelling vehicles), industry (boiler fuel), and commercial sectors, with a mandatory blending obligation (CBO) starting at 1% in FY 2025-26.

The platform aims to enable direct and constructive engagement between industry stakeholders, policymakers, Oil Marketing Companies, City Gas Distribution entities, financial institutions, and technology providers, thereby strengthening the ecosystem for sustainable and bankable CBG projects in India.
