IFFCO Reports ₹3,811 Crore Profit Before Tax, 47% Surge in Nano Fertiliser Sales
Dr. U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director of IFFCO, announced that IFFCO will soon launch Nano NPK fertiliser in granular form for soil application in basal dose.

The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), the world’s leading fertilizer cooperative, has reported a profit before tax of ₹3,811 crore for the financial year 2024–25, marking yet another year of strong financial performance. IFFCO posted a 4.5% growth in turnover, reaching ₹41,244 crore during 2024–25, with a 47% increase in nano fertiliser sales.
IFFCO held its 54th Annual General Meeting on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together cooperators from across India. The cooperative reported a 16% increase in net profit to ₹2,823 crore during the last fiscal.
Speaking to the media, IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani said that IFFCO has posted a profit exceeding ₹3,000 crore for three consecutive financial years and has rewarded its members with a 20% dividend on the paid-up share capital for 23 straight years, underscoring the cooperative’s commitment to equitable and sustainable growth.
“For the first time in the world, IFFCO has introduced nano urea, nano DAP, and nano zinc, offering a new approach to driving the agricultural revolution,” said Dileep Sanghani.
Dr. U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director of IFFCO, announced that IFFCO will soon launch Nano NPK fertiliser in granular form for soil application in basal dose. Nano NPK is enriched with magnesium, sulphur, zinc, and copper to improve nutrient efficiency and crop productivity. The cooperative has also introduced Nano Zinc and Nano Copper in 100 ml liquid bottles, costing ₹200 each, to meet micronutrient needs. IFFCO will also build a modern seed innovation centre at its Kalol unit.
Dr. Awasthi said the cooperative is focusing on creating awareness among farmers about the benefits of nano fertilisers. “By incorporating nanotechnology, drone technology, and AI technologies, IFFCO is transforming the agriculture and food value chain across the country. Our Nano Fertiliser has gained global recognition, including in countries like Brazil, Kenya, and the United States,” he said.
31% Surge in Nano Urea Plus (Liquid) Sales
During the FY 2024-25, IFFCO sold 365.09 lakh bottles (500 ml each) of nano fertilisers, up from 248.95 lakh bottles sold in FY 2023–24. Of this, 268 lakh bottles were Nano Urea Plus (Liquid), and 97 lakh bottles were Nano DAP (Liquid), recording year-on-year growth of 31% and 118%, respectively.
This combined sales volume is equivalent to 12 lakh tonnes of conventional urea and 4.85 lakh tonnes of conventional DAP, representing a major shift towards sustainable agricultural inputs.
Rs. 2,500 Crore Invested in Nano Fertilizers
Dr. Awasthi said that IFFCO has invested around ₹2,500 crore in nano fertilisers to increase crop productivity and protect soil health. In July 2024, a nationwide Model Nano Village/Clusters Project was launched, selecting 203 village clusters—each covering 2,000 acres—to pioneer the adoption of nano fertilisers.
Over 90,000 farmers have registered on the Nano Village Portal, covering five lakh acres, of which 72,000 acres have been sprayed using agri-drones. This initiative has led to a 28.73% reduction in chemical fertiliser use and a 5.8% increase in crop yields.
2% Growth in Speciality Fertilizers
IFFCO's total bulk fertiliser sales rose by 1.82% to 112.48 lakh tonnes. Water-soluble and speciality fertilisers recorded sales of 1.30 lakh tonnes, up by 2% over the previous year. Sales of Sagarika Liquid is 11.55 lakh litre which is 33% higher. Bio-fertiliser sales also jumped by 35%, reaching 8.61 lakh litres.
With a vast network of over 35,600 cooperative societies as members and 10 manufacturing units in India and abroad, IFFCO is one of the leading fertiliser manufacturers in the country, serving over 5 crore farmers across India.
