KRIBHCO announces the appointment of MR Sharma as Managing Director
MR Sharma, a graduate in Chemical Engineering from IIT Roorkee (1981), brings over 42 years of experience in the fertilizer industry, particularly in ammonia and urea production integrated complexes.
Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) has announced the appointment of MR Sharma as its new Managing Director, effective from September 1, 2024. In addition to his new role, Sharma will continue to serve as the Director (Technical) of the organization.
MR Sharma, a graduate in Chemical Engineering from IIT Roorkee (1981), brings over 42 years of experience in the fertilizer industry, particularly in ammonia and urea production integrated complexes. Notably, Sharma is the first Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) from KRIBHCO to rise to the position of Managing Director, having begun his journey with the cooperative in 1982.
Throughout his distinguished career at KRIBHCO, he led several projects and contributed significantly towards the revamp of the ammonia & urea complex to expand production capacity. During COVID-19, when most of the fertiliser plants in western India were forced to shut down due to the non-availability of raw materials and workforce, MR Sharma managed to keep the production facility running at more than 100 per cent capacity with record energy efficiency. For his commendable contribution, he was awarded as the outstanding CEO by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry and was featured in prestigious publications alongside many other honours.
