Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 18th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer amounting to more than Rs 20,000 crores to around 9.5 crore beneficiary farmers. He also addressed the Kisan Samman Sammelan in Washim, Maharashtra, today. With the release of the 18th installment, the total funds distributed under the PM-KISAN Yojana have now exceeded Rs 3.45 lakh crore. Since the scheme began, more than 11 crore farmers have benefited from this scheme. Each beneficiary farmer receives Rs 6,000 per year in three installments, helping them manage their agricultural needs and expenses.

PM Modi also launched various significant development schemes to boost agriculture and animal husbandry in the region. These projects are valued at Rs 23,300 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated more than 7,500 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), which is designed to enhance the storage, processing, and management of agricultural products. The Prime Minister emphasized the role of 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will help farmers increase their market access and income.

Several technological innovations were also launched, including an integrated genomic chip for cattle and a sex-sorted semen technology to improve cattle breeding efficiency. Furthermore, five new solar parks with a combined capacity of 19 MW were launched across Maharashtra to support sustainable energy for farmers.

In addition to the PM-KISAN Yojana, the Prime Minister also released the 5th installment of the "Namo Shetkari Mahasamman Nidhi" for farmers in Maharashtra. This state-specific scheme provides an additional Rs 6,000 annually to farmers, meaning farmers in Maharashtra receive a total of Rs 12,000 every year when combined with the PM-KISAN support.

During his address, PM Modi highlighted the importance of the farming community in India's progress and outlined key initiatives aimed at empowering farmers. He praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's zero electricity bill scheme, which is providing substantial relief to the state’s farmers. Modi also criticized the previous state government for halting several projects that could have benefited farmers.

Farmers who have not received their PM-KISAN installment can reach out to the helpline numbers 155261 or 011-24300606. To ensure they receive the payments, all farmers must complete their e-KYC, land verification, and Aadhaar linking. Registered farmers can do their e-KYC through the official PM-KISAN website (https://pmkisan.gov.in) or by visiting a Common Service Center.
