Government Partners with IREF to Host Bharat International Rice Conference 2025
The Global Rice Summit will serve as a dynamic platform uniting all stakeholders to foster collaboration, innovation, and trade opportunities.
In a major push to strengthen India’s global leadership in the rice sector, the Department of Food and Public Distribution, Govt. of India, has confirmed its association with the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) for the upcoming Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025.
The two-day mega event will be held on October 30–31, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The conference is set to bring together the most extensive assembly of the global rice export ecosystem — including over 5,000 farmers, 2,500 exporters and millers, 50 shipping lines, and 1,000 international buyers from more than 80 countries, along with representatives from diplomatic missions and trade delegations.
Senior ministers from various foreign governments are also expected to attend, marking a historic convergence of policymakers, industry leaders, and global stakeholders in the rice trade.
Welcoming the government’s support, Dr Prem Garg, National President of IREF and Chairman of Shri Lal Mahal Group, said the collaboration underscores India’s intent to position its rice sector as a global benchmark in quality, trade, and innovation.
The Global Rice Summit will serve as a dynamic platform uniting all stakeholders to foster collaboration, innovation, and trade opportunities. The event will enable visitors and exhibitors to gain direct access to global buyers, emerging markets, and the latest technological advancements in agriculture. Participants will also benefit from one-to-one networking opportunities, further strengthening international supply chains and opening new avenues for business growth.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lauded the initiative and extended his best wishes, describing it as a landmark step toward empowering farmers and exporters while reinforcing India’s commitment to global food security.
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry through APEDA, BIRC 2025 will serve as a premier global event dedicated to rice. The event aims to bring together governments, exporters, millers, buyers, logistics partners, and policymakers to collaboratively strategize and stabilize the future of the global rice trade.
