NFCSF announces national efficiency awards for cooperative sugar factories

The National Federation of Co-operative Sugar Factories (NFCSF) has announced the recipients of the prestigious National Level Efficiency Awards for the cooperative sugar factories in India for the year 2022-23. NFCSF President Harshvardhan Patil made the announcement, highlighting the exemplary performance of these factories in various categories.

The awards were determined by an Expert Committee headed by the Chief Director of Sugar and included key industry figures such as the Director of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), the Director of the National Sugar Institute in Kanpur, and the Managing Directors of state sugar federations from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and NFCSF.

A total of 92 cooperative sugar factories across the country participated in the evaluation process. These were divided into two groups based on sugar recovery rates: Group 1 for Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka with high sugar recovery (above 10%), and Group 2 for other states with lower sugar recovery rates. This division aims to create a level playing field and foster a competitive spirit among the factories.
