The fact that the government is supporting this industry also makes it the right time for ISO to get actively involved with the Indian Sugarcane sector. The conference will be a great opportunity for industry leaders to come together and share ideas, learn from each other, and network with colleagues,” says Jose Orive, Executive Director, International Sugar Organisation (ISO).

The goal is to create a prosperous and sustainable future together. Bio-Energy has emerged as a key source to mitigate climate change and reduce carbon footprint. There are global initiatives to adopt cleaner, greener, and sustainable fuel sources. Industry leaders around the world are keen to learn, share, and take part in building a better future. In the race to find alternative fuel, the sugar industry is emerging as the leading producer of bioenergy. The land transition from low-productivity pastures to high yield sugarcane cultivation has been identified as a sustainable pathway to increase bioenergy production.

Additionally, the use of ethanol, through molasses or cane juice, has also emerged as a biofuel which has helped in economic and environmental sustainability. Over the years, the industry has invested in sustainable development adopting practices that reduce water consumption, generate renewable energy and their environmentally friendly technologies are helping in reduction of carbon footprint, and mitigating climate change.
