SIDBI, CSC join hands to open Swavalamban Connect Kendras in Bihar, Jharkhand
SIDBI and CSC have signed MoU to open Swavalamban Connect Kendras (SCKs) in Bihar and Jharkhand. The SCKs are aimed to emerge as a one-stop centre to guide aspiring entrepreneurs to become job creators through awareness, mapping gaps, skill connect, creating localized project profiles, credit connect, and post-handholding support like market connect. These centers will nurture local talent and promote economic growth, says a SIDBI press release.
In Bihar, 35 centers and in Jharkhand, 16 centers will be opened. This initiative aims for more job creators in the society. The SCK will help in setting up enterprises from scratch and will also provide support to existing livelihoods/enterprises to grow.
The major objective of the initiative is to strengthen the Mission Swavalamban by moving from the stage of awareness to the enterprise setting up and stepping up including conversion of calls into informed leads, mapping gaps for suitable engagement, handholding for setting up an enterprise, credit connect, etc.
SIDBI-Chairman and Managing Director Sivasubramanian Ramann said that SIDBI is committed to supporting the entrepreneurial aspirations of the youths. He highlighted the transformative impact that access to finance, mentorship, and market linkages can have on budding enterprises, paving the way for a vibrant start-up ecosystem.
Sanjay Rakesh, MD-CEO, CSC SPV said, “Digital Empowerment is rapidly transforming rural India. CSC SPV is known for its rural entrepreneurship. We are supporting and promoting entrepreneurship in far-flung areas through a large network across the country. Therefore, leveraging CSC SPV’s huge presence SIDBI may support this project of great importance.
This step is to move up from awareness and ensure facilitating the conversion of entrepreneurial dreams into reality. The partnership with SIDBI will enable a deeper outreach in rural areas that will now pave the path of inclusive growth in the area.”
The SCKs shall also help them through experience-sharing mechanisms, focused group discussions among stakeholders including bankers, handholding support for setting up enterprise, credit linkage, localized project profiles etc, the release added.
