Bharat Taxi Holds First Board Meeting, Jayen Mehta Elected as Chairman
In the first Board meeting, Jayen Mehta (Managing Director of AMUL, GCMMF) was unanimously elected Chairman and Rohit Gupta (Deputy Managing Director, NCDC) was elected Vice Chairman of Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited.

Bharat Taxi (Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited), a pioneering cooperative-driven national ride-hailing initiative, held its first Board of Directors meeting on October 16, 2025, in New Delhi. The meeting marked a landmark moment in India’s mission to build a cooperative-led, technology-driven transport revolution.
Empowering Drivers
In a milestone step, two driver representatives, Dhara Vallabh and Kishan Bhai G. Patani, were elected to the Board (as members) after a voting process on October 5, 2025. Their inclusion symbolises a new era of driver empowerment and representation within the cooperative framework.
During the meeting, the Board members shared valuable insights on the strategic roadmap for Bharat Taxi, focusing on digital innovation, cooperative growth, sustainability, and the empowerment of driver-members. The discussions emphasised Bharat Taxi’s mission to integrate technology with cooperative principles—ensuring affordability for passengers, dignity for drivers, and operational efficiency.
Bharat Taxi’s Leadership
At the inaugural meeting, Jayen Mehta (Managing Director of AMUL, GCMMF) was unanimously elected Chairman, and Rohit Gupta (Deputy Managing Director, NCDC) was elected Vice Chairman of Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited. Other Board of Directors include Prahlad Singh, Director, IFFCO; Dr MeeneshKumar Champaklal Shah, Managing Director, NDDB; Unupom Kaushik, Managing Director, NCEL; Archana Singh, Chief General Manager, NABARD; and Anupama Singh, Chairman, Kashi Srijan Bahuudeshiya Sahakari Samiti.
