Supplementing the historical visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States, the world's No 1 co-operative, IFFCO has started exporting the world’s 1st Nano Urea invented and manufactured indigenously in India by IFFCO to the US. An agreement in regard has been signed between IFFCO & Kapoor Enterprises Inc, California. Nano Urea export to the US is a giant step towards realising PM’s dream of Sahkar Se Samriddhi & Atmanirbhar Bharat. A total of more than 5 lakh bottles of IFFCO Nano Urea - an innovation of the century - is exported to more than 25 countries.
Nano Urea increases the production with improved nutritional quality and also reduces chemical fertiliser usage. It has a huge impact on the quality of underground water and soil by reducing the water, air and soil pollution resulting in significant reduction in the global warming with a positive impact on climate change leading sustainable development. IFFCO Nano Urea Liquid has been found to be effective and efficient for plant nutrition.
This is an inspiration taken from the call of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reducing the use of urea in soil. The Nano Urea liquid has been indigenously developed after many years of dedicated and sincere research by IFFCO’s Scientists and Engineers through a proprietary technology developed at Nano Biotechnology Research Centre, Kalol. IFFCO has also introduced Nano DAP Liquid and made it available to farmers worldwide. Nano DAP is an effective solution for increasing plant productivity. It is cheaper than conventional DAP, and safe and non-toxic for flora and fauna. It minimises dependence on conventional DAP and reduces wastage of money at all levels. Excess of Urea and DAP causes environmental pollution, harm soil health, and make plants more susceptible for disease and insect infestation, delayed maturity of the crop and production loss. Nano Urea liquid makes the crops stronger, healthy and protect them from lodging effect.
It is important to note that in a report by E&Y, a global consultancy, said, “Green House Gas (GHG) saving from the usage of 5 bottles of Nano Urea is equivalent to 1 tree planted.” Also, another report by International Rice Research Institute stated that “As per the preliminary report submitted by Regional Rainfed Lowland Rice Research Station, Gerua (Assam), IRRI-ISARC trials (Kharif 2021), if India’s 50% of rice cultivation area is brought under Nano Urea, it will lead to reduction in Green House Gas (GHG) emission by ~ 4.6 million tonnes of CO2- equivalent.”
A 500ml-bottle of IFFCO Nano Urea liquid will replace at least one bag of conventional Urea. The bottle can significantly bring down the cost of logistics and warehousing. IFFCO has already sold more than 5.7 crore bottles of IFFCO Nano Urea in India since its inception in the commercial market. Both Nano Urea and Nano DAP are the game changing innovations of the agriculture industry leading to sustainable agriculture.
