IFFCO Projects Profit Over Rs 3,000 Crore, 47% Growth in Nano-Fertilizer Sales in FY 2024-25
IFFCO recorded a 47% year-on-year increase in the sales of nano fertilizers, with IFFCO Nano DAP showing the most substantial growth at 118%. Sales of Nano Urea Plus Liquid rose by 31%, contributing to a total of 365 lakh bottles sold during FY 2024-25.

The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) is set to report a profit before tax exceeding Rs 3,000 crore for the financial year 2024-25, marking a continuation of its robust performance. The announcement was made by Dr. U. S. Awasthi, Managing Director of IFFCO, who credited the achievement to innovative agricultural technologies, strategic management, and the increased adoption of nano-fertilizers. Dr. Awasthi extended his best wishes to the IFFCO family, cooperatives, associates, and partners for a successful FY 2025-26.
The total dispatch of IFFCO fertilizers during 2024-25 amounted to 113.20 lakh MT, including subsidized fertilizers, WSF, and specialty fertilizers. This reflects a growth of 1.80% over the 111.04 lakh MT dispatched in 2023-24. The cooperative giant reported remarkable growth in sales, particularly in its innovative nano-fertilizer segment, alongside significant strides in sustainable agriculture and global outreach.
Nano-Fertilizers Witness Significant Growth
IFFCO recorded a 47% year-on-year increase in the sales of nano fertilizers, with IFFCO Nano DAP showing the most substantial growth at 118%. Sales of Nano Urea Plus Liquid rose by 31%, contributing to a total of 365 lakh bottles sold during FY 2024-25. This included 268 lakh bottles of Nano Urea Plus Liquid and 97 lakh bottles of Nano DAP Liquid. The cooperative also exported over 5.09 lakh bottles of nano-fertilizers to 40 countries, reinforcing its global footprint.
Broader Product Portfolio and Logistics
IFFCO Production highlights included 456.38 lakh bottles of nano-fertilizers and 93.10 lakh MT of bulk fertilizers, with record-breaking outputs at IFFCO’s Phulpur-I, Aonla-II, and Paradeep units.
Beyond nano-fertilizers, IFFCO reported growth in other product lines. Sales of water-soluble fertilizers (WSF) and specialty fertilizers reached 1.30 lakh MT (up 2% YoY), while Sagarika Liquid sales totaled 11.55 lakh liters (up 33%). Sagarika Granule sales climbed to 68,000 MT (up 28%), and bio-fertilizers reached 8.61 lakh liters (up 3%).
Sustainable Agriculture Initiatives
IFFCO conducted over 2.15 lakh field demonstrations to promote nano-fertilizer usage among farmers. In Kharif 2024, the cooperative led field trials across 15 agro-climatic zones, with 1,270 Nano DAP and 200 Nano Urea trials monitored by over 411 ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).
In FY 2024-25, IFFCO launched the nationwide “Model Nano Village/Clusters Project” on July 1, 2024, selecting 203 village clusters (each spanning 2,000 acres) to pioneer the adoption of nano-fertilizers. The initiative aims to reduce bulk fertilizer usage while enhancing crop productivity and quality. Over 90,000 farmers have registered on the Nano Village Portal, covering 5 lakh acres, with 40,000 farmers purchasing over 5.30 lakh bottles of IFFCO Nano Fertilizers and Sagarika. Additionally, 72,000 acres were sprayed using agri-drones.
Dr. Awasthi stated that this initiative resulted in a 28.73% reduction in chemical fertilizer use and a 5.80% increase in crop yield. IFFCO is also exploring the use of chemical fertilizer reduction data for carbon credit certification to validate greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions achieved through nano-fertilizer adoption.
Innovations and Expansions in Agri-Tech
IFFCO has announced plans to launch Nano NPK fertilizer in granular form for soil application. Enriched with magnesium, sulfur, zinc, and copper, this new product aims to enhance crop productivity while minimizing nutrient losses. Alongside Liquid Nano Urea Plus and Liquid Nano DAP, the granular Nano NPK is expected to significantly reduce reliance on conventional chemical fertilizers.
In a major push toward modern agricultural practices, IFFCO is integrating nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and agriculture drones into farming operations. As part of the PM’s NaMo Drone Didi initiative, IFFCO trained 300 women farmers as drone operators and supported 1,764 rural drone entrepreneurs, fostering self-sufficiency and sustainability.
Cooperative Milestones & Future Outlook
Dr. Awasthi also highlighted IFFCO’s support for the newly established Tribhuvan Sahkari University, India’s first university dedicated to the cooperative sector, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister Amit Shah.
In a historic move, IFFCO successfully hosted the ICA General Assembly and Global Cooperative Conference 2024 in New Delhi, positioning itself as a global leader in cooperative and sustainable agriculture. At the conference, Dr. Awasthi received the prestigious Rochdale Pioneers Award 2024, which he dedicated to IFFCO’s workforce. “This recognition is a testament to the unwavering support and dedication of IFFCO’s employees and management, who continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of farmers,” he said.
As IFFCO prepares to celebrate its Golden Jubilee in April 2025, marking 50 years since the establishment of its Kalol unit, Dr. Awasthi expressed optimism for FY 2025-26. “With the high spirit of innovation and excellence, we are transforming agriculture. I extend my gratitude to our chairman, board of directors, employees, and partners for their unwavering support,” he concluded.
