Central government’s renewed thrust on cooperatives to boost farmers incomes: Anandhi, Registrar-Cooperatives, Rajasthan
Anandhi emphasised that the earlier focus was limited to supplying inputs like seeds and fertilisers. Prime Minister Modi has shifted the priority to directly increasing farmers' income. All planning must align with this goal, and KRIBHCO is well-equipped to deliver on it. She described the meeting as highly significant for both KRIBHCO and Rajasthan
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the newly formed Ministry of Cooperation is giving fresh momentum and direction to the cooperative movement across India, with Union Minister Amit Shah providing focused leadership. Anandhi, Secretary and Registrar, Cooperation, Rajasthan, said this while addressing the Marketing Plan Review and Planning Meeting 2026–27 for Rajasthan, organised by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) in Jaipur as chief guest.
She noted that cooperation was earlier a part of the Agriculture Ministry, but now it has been given an independent identity and a redefined role. Rajasthan holds vast potential in this sector, and KRIBHCO is doing commendable work to support the state's farmers through cooperative mechanisms.
Anandhi emphasised that the earlier focus was limited to supplying inputs like seeds and fertilisers. Prime Minister Modi has shifted the priority to directly increasing farmers' income. All planning must align with this goal, and KRIBHCO is well-equipped to deliver on it. She described the meeting as highly significant for both KRIBHCO and Rajasthan.
KRIBHCO Director (Finance & Marketing) Manish Kumar said the organisation continues to place farmers' prosperity at the core of its efforts, particularly in agriculture-heavy states like Rajasthan. By ensuring timely supply of advanced fertilisers, strengthening cooperative institutions, and launching farmer-centric initiatives, KRIBHCO is making farming more sustainable, profitable, and modern.
He added that in Rajasthan, KRIBHCO is actively reinforcing cooperative networks, providing quality inputs, and linking farmers to new technologies through awareness programmes, resulting in higher production and improved incomes. The organisation remains committed to realising “Prosperity through Cooperation” and strengthening agriculture's role in the vision of Developed India @2047, while upholding innovation, transparency, and financial discipline.
KRIBHCO Deputy General Manager (Marketing, North) Gajendra Kumar highlighted the organisation's grassroots engagement in Rajasthan's diverse agro-climatic zones. Through reliable supply of quality fertilisers, close coordination with cooperative societies, and farmer-focused marketing, KRIBHCO is driving agricultural progress. Awareness camps, training programmes, and promotion of modern techniques are helping farmers raise yields, cut costs, and achieve income stability. Empowering farmers via cooperation remains a top priority.
The meeting underscored Rajasthan's status as India's largest state, where agriculture relies heavily on monsoon and limited irrigation, covering about 60% of the geographical area and forming the backbone of rural livelihoods and the state economy.
Discussions also covered the fertiliser market scenario in Rajasthan, stressing the need for balanced nutrition and efficient input management. KRIBHCO plays a vital role by supplying urea, DAP, NPK, bio-fertilisers, zinc sulphate, seeds, and other products.
For 2026–27, KRIBHCO outlined plans to strengthen input availability, expand distribution networks, enhance farmer services, and optimise product offerings. Outstanding performers were felicitated during the session.
Senior management provided guidance on the way forward and reaffirmed KRIBHCO's ongoing commitment to agricultural growth and higher farmer incomes in Rajasthan.
Among those present were KRIBHCO State Manager (Marketing) R.S. Rathore; Joint General Manager (Marketing) Dr. Tejinder Kumar; Joint General Manager (Marketing) Dr. Pradeep Kumar; Deputy General Manager (Marketing) Ajay Singh; and Joint General Manager (Marketing & Public Relations) Dr. V.K.
