PM-Kisan: ₹20,500 Crore Transferred to 9.7 Crore Farmers in 20th Installment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, released the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. As part of this installment, approximately ₹20,500 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 9.7 crore eligible farmers across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, released the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. As part of this installment, approximately ₹20,500 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 9.7 crore eligible farmers across the country.
Earlier, the 19th installment of the scheme was released on February 24, 2025, benefiting over 10 crore farmers with a total disbursal of more than ₹23,000 crore. With the latest transfer, the cumulative amount disbursed under the PM-Kisan scheme has crossed ₹3.77 lakh crore since its inception.
PM-Kisan is a 100% centrally funded scheme aimed at providing income support to all eligible landholding farmer families. Under the scheme, each beneficiary receives ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000, transferred directly to their bank accounts every four months to ensure timely financial assistance.
On this occasion, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed a farmers’ gathering in Patna, Bihar. He emphasized the government’s commitment to increasing agricultural productivity, particularly in low-yield regions, through initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Yojana.
The Union Minister also assured farmers of the timely and adequate availability of fertilizers and pesticides. He highlighted various government efforts to provide compensation in the event of crop loss, underlining the Centre’s focus on strengthening farmer resilience and income security.
