NCEL Sign MoU with APCCF To Boost Co-Operative Exports From Arunachal Pradesh
Partnership aims to strengthen export linkages for key horticultural crops and integrate Arunachal’s co-operatives with national and global markets.
In a significant step toward expanding co-operative-led exports from the Northeast, the Arunachal Pradesh Consumer Cooperative Federation (APCCF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Co-operative Exports Limited (NCEL) at the World Trade Centre on Tuesday.
The MoU was signed by Satya Prakash Sharma, Head of Co-operative Services at NCEL, and Niklen Lego, Managing Director of APCCF. Officials described the partnership as a milestone in integrating Arunachal’s co-operatives with national and global supply chains, advancing the broader objective of co-operative-driven export growth.
The MoU is aimed at enhancing export opportunities for agricultural and allied commodities from Arunachal Pradesh through a structured co-operative framework. The collaboration will focus on promoting high-value crops such as kiwi, orange, pineapple, ginger, and cardamom, which hold strong potential in domestic and international markets.
Under the agreement, NCEL will facilitate market linkages and procurement support to co-operatives across the state. The initiative also seeks to build sustainable value chains, improve quality standards, and ensure better price realisation for producers. By aggregating produce through co-operatives, the partnership is expected to reduce transaction costs and strengthen farmers’ bargaining power.
